This course provides the fundamentals of key sedimentological and diagenetic controls clastic reservoir properties at both field and exploration scales. Understanding of these key controls and their relationship with different depositional settings, sequence stratigraphy and burial history is important for volumetric calculations and de-risking of prospects to enable informed decision making.
Topics
Methods and data analysis
Sedimentary parameters
Diagenetic cements in sandstone
Burial history and time temperature relationships
Diagenesis related to specific environments
Sequence stratigraphy and diagenesis
